Phyllo cups appetizers are one of my favorite finger foods to set out at a party. They are cute, mini and so tasty. All of these phyllo shells are made using a store-bought box of premade shells for convenience. If you want to make your own phyllo cups, you can too.

Phyllo cup appetizers are super easy to make in advance or serve cold, both of which we look for when party planning! If you like small canapes, these Easy Savory Canapés For Parties would be perfect to serve a crowd at any casual or classy co*cktail party.
Most recipes below are no bake. Some are decadent and rich using cream cheese and some are a bit lighter and healthier using fruit or veggies. All appetizers are savory and are suited for any kind of party!
Phyllo Cup Tips
- Allow your phyllo cups to thaw in the fridge for a few hours or overnight.
- You do not need to bake your store-bought cups unless you want to re-crisp them.
- Do not discard the phyllo cup tray. Use it to transport/store your appetizers easily.
- Phyllo dough will get soggy after a few hours so try to wait until last minute to fill them.
- Bake your store-bought phyllo cups to give them some extra crunch.
Where are phyllo cups in grocery store?
You should be able to find phyllo cups in the freezer aisle/frozen foods section near the puff pastry.
Are phyllo cups frozen?
Yes they come frozen so store them in the freezer until your ready to use them. Then defrost in the fridge.
Can I make phyllo cups ahead of time?
I recommend making them at the most, 2 hours in advance. More than that, and they may get soggy.
Is puff pastry the same as phyllo?
No! Puff pastry dough is made differently using much more fat, butter to be exact. It results in a thicker and puffier pastry. Phyllo dough is made with little to no fat. The main ingredients are flour, vinegar, oil and cornstarch.
How do you keep phyllo cups from getting soggy?
Do not fill them too early before serving. A good guide is to fill them at the most, 2 hours before eating. Tip #1: Baking your store-bought phyllo cups a bit more will help them crisp up more which helps. Tip #2: Consider placing a barrier, like lettuce leaf, between the phyllo shell to keep the moisture at a minimum.

Phyllo Cup Tip!
Make sure when serving appetizers inside of phyllo cups that they stay CRISPY. If you add the food too early, they will get soggy which is not appetizing at all! I suggest filling them no earlier than 2 hours prior to the party.
